EXCELLANT !!! September 19, 2008 Scat Savoy (Connecticut) I'll not paraphrase any of this books contents; but, if you are a poker player and play the variations of poker which Dan Harrington writes about, I'd recommend you purchase his books.
Dan writes about poker better than he plays it, and he is one the best poker players in the world. Having purchased and read all Harrington's poker books as well as "many" other poker books by so-called authorities, Harrington, by comparrison, appears to be unassuming with respect to ego; he simply tells it like it is and his reasoning and stratagems regading poker are certainly work the price of the books.
Bravo, Mr. Harrington, and thank you for all your efforts in authoring worthwhile books on poker.
Worth every penny September 13, 2008 Mark C. Upshaw (Lakewood, CA) Must buy. Worth every penny. This with volume two are great and if the material is mastered, your returns will be greater than you expected. Aides through all the lower to middle levels.
Excellent information on strategy August 3, 2008 J. Wooster (Houston, TX USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book contains a wealth of information on the strategy needed to succesfully play Texas Hold Em poker. Through the use of real-life example hands the author explains not only what a good bet is, but why to make specific plays in certain situations. A very valuable tool for the poker player tring to increase his odds of winning a Texas Hold Em tournament.
Best Poker series ever written... July 15, 2008 Jason Tucker (Florida) If you are new to Holdem or have never read a poker book, this is the absolute first one you should buy. Volume 1 covers peoples Playing Styles, Reading the Table, Pot Odds, Hand Selections, Betting Preflop, Post Flop, Turn and River. Volume 2 reviews the most common moves including continuation bets, bluffing, heads up play, equity, bubbles, and other mixed info. Finally, Volume 3 highlights 50 hands step by step and quizzes you on the right play. You can score results and find/improve specific weaknesses. This series is a must read for any serious player, infact you are at a deep disadvantage if you don't. It WILL improve your game play, payouts, and tournament rankings. Dan also have 2 volumes on Cash Games I have yet to read but I am sure are amazing. Thank you Dan from SuperAggressive.com!!!
Deserves more than 5 stars. June 18, 2008 K.C. (San Diego, California) All 3 books in this series are great. I wish it was possible to award more than 5 stars because these books are much better than the typical book that gets a 5 star rating.
