A fantastic and durable product that will last for years. July 16, 2010 Chris I bought my first CH USB yoke nearly a decade ago, and only now, after a ridiculous amount of GA and commercial simming, do I feel I need a replacement. The old one was still in working order but the springs were feeling loose. You can bet that if you get one of these, it will satisfy your flying needs for a very long time.
Very sturdy and reliable flight simulation yoke July 13, 2010 Juan Lleras (Bogotá, Colombia) This CH yoke has been extremely useful. It works very well with FSX. I use a Win 7 computer and installation was just 'plug and play'. The only disadvantage I found was that the elevator trim adjusting wheel is both relatively hard to move and has very sharp indentations (from the plastic casting). After three days of play I had a blister in my thumb. I changed the configuration using other buttons for this purpose and used a file to remove those hard edges. That has been my only complain, which compared with the sturdiness and reliability of this product is a minor thing.
I consider this to be a very good product with a high benefit to cost.
Excellent Durability July 6, 2010 Cornelius This unit was purchased used from some one. The unit proved to be able to take the use well. The durbility of unit is excellent. The adjustment of forwared elevator push in and out a little heavy. The alignment is not always the same with the internal spring return or precise but good. It may return a little to left or right. Good for single engine general avaition aircraft. Will work well with associated throttle and pedals of larger more safisticated aircraft flying. CD-ROM was missing and so was case package. The ROM was in another unit from CH the 300-133 Quadrant which allowed it to operate normally with there associations in harmony as CH intended.
Not even ok. April 21, 2010 Mark (U.S.A.) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm a pilot, and I'm giving up on this product. I've been trying to use it, calibrate it, get it to respond somewhat close to the way a real aircraft responds, and it just doesn't work. It is possible I'm doing something wrong, but it should not take several hours of trying to figure out the right way. I've reduced sensitivity to zero and it still won't respond realistically.
Pretty cool April 2, 2010 Robert W. Prince (Fairbanks, AK USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had this for several years now for use with my X-plane sim on Mac and overall I've been happy with it. The hat switch on the right side of the yoke no longer works when you push it up, but down and right and left still work, so this is a minor irritation but I don't regret buying it. In X-plane you can assign the buttons and levers to do whatever you want, so if you want one throttle, mixture, and prop pitch control, you can do that. But if you want two throttles for twin engines and no pitch, you can change that, too.
The common complaint about this yoke is that the clamps that hold it down do not work well on thin desks--especially when they're tapered at the edge. The problem is the clamps on the bottom of the yoke do not reach far enough back under the desk and they do not tighten down enough. This is fixed relatively easily with a book or the like, but it is frustrating to pull back on the yoke for a landing flare and have the whole thing either tilt back or flat out pop off the desk into your lap.
Bottom line--if you're looking for more realism in flying yoke-controlled aircraft (as opposed to joystick), this is an expensive piece of plastic, but it gets the job done and it's the cheapest yoke control I've seen.
