I've purchased and retired several cases (some much more expensive than the OtterBox) for my iPhone 3G S. The OtterBox Defender Case is by far the most protective, practical, and ergonomically comfortable of all I've tried. The phone is completely enclosed within a hard case which is then covered by molded neoprene. A clear sheet protects the screen, neoprene plugs protect the switches and jacks, and the camera lens is protected by a deep recess. The microphone and speaker are shielded by a fabric material that resists the errant splash. The all-important power button and action button are ALWAYS available through the protective neoprene. Other switches and jacks are easily accessible when needed and the touch screen action loses only a small amount of sensitivity. The provided belt clip covers the screen during transport and provides a convenient way to carry the phone.
Some reviews indicate a greasy feel to the screen protector, poor phone sound quality before removing protective fabric pieces from the microphone and speaker areas, and insecure attachment of the phone to the belt clip. I have experienced none of those issues. A slicker feel to the screen protector would be appreciated. I've received no complaints about voice quality when I'm talking on the phone. The belt clip is designed to attach to the case in only one direction. Attaching it in any other way IS insecure. I suspect that's what some other users may have experienced.
I'm very pleased with my OtterBox case and have recommended it to many other iPhone users. I do the same for you.

Great case. Very durable and protects the Phone well. However, the belt clip holder doesn't hold phone that well. Needs alittle better design. Having said that, the holder does a nice job of holdng the phoneas as a display and viewing it on a table. No need to hold your phone while watching a movie.

I purchased two iphones, and two of these cases, one for me and one for my wife. (Mine's not pink.) Within 24 hours of installing the case on my phone, I dropped it and found that the only damage was a dirt mark that wiped off the case. As fragile as these phones are, I'm certain there would've been more damage if it weren't for the case. The only negative remark I have is that the plastic holster with the belt clip does not secure the phone very well. My phone has fallen out of the belt clip two additional times, but the excellent case has spared the phone any damage. Well worth the money, highly recommended.

Accidently dropped iPhone into water during first week of being in Otterbox and it was protected from getting wet. In my opinion, Otterbox has paid for itself already!

It has saved me from several bumps and scratches in just a short time. If I had not had it on I could have even damaged it. Only problem I have had is the clip. If you are not watching the phone can pop out if you bump it getting in and out of chairs or your car. And the Spring Clip can break if you hit it too hard.
