Very attractive deck, but the sides are rough. March 1, 2010 V. S. Romero (Chicago) As many other reviewers mentioned, the sides of the cards are not as smooth as other Bicycle decks. I'm no magician, but bought this deck for poker play; therefore, this factor might not affect me as much as people who purchased this deck for card tricks.
The design is awesome, and for this price, you can't really go wrong.
bicycle guardians playing cards March 1, 2010 Dr Dave Well made cards with beautiful back designs. The white margin along the back of the cards makes it easier to do magic tricks. The red ink on the cards is a vibrant deeper red which makes the cards all the more attractive. The design of the Ace of spades is also very appealing. The cards are durable yet very pliant and easy to handle. I plan to purchase more in the future.
most the cards look neat February 18, 2010 only1candis (Dallas) All the back of the cards are neat as pictured and the Ace is as pictured, but all the rest of the cards are normal looking on the faces of the cards. They work good and look good, but I guess I just thought that the cards would look similar to the ace through out the deck with some different design on the faces of the cards.
Nice look, poor performance January 29, 2010 R. Hulshizer (Blue Bell, PA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These cards look cool, it's true. But for card tricks and flourishes they really miss the mark. The cards are a bit thicker than ordinary Rider Backs. The edges are rough (making it difficult to do a standard waterfall shuffle, for example). If you buy these cards, I suggest buying one deck just to see how you like them before you invest your money in a bunch of these. From my perspective, Tally Ho's are the best cards for tricks and flourishes, and you can buy them for a lot less than what you'll pay for Guardians.
Cool cards; best specialty deck I've seen December 15, 2009 T. J. Keyes (Tucson, AZ USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've tried out the Bicycle Guardian, Ghost, Tragic Royalty and Eco Edition decks. By far this is the best of those decks in quality of cards. If I could I would have given these 4.5 stars. The red color in this deck is darker than the regular decks and the yellow in the royal cards has been grayed out. I really like this deck, but still play with a regular Bicycle deck when I play cards. I don't do magic tricks but if you do, these are probably the best deck lookwise. They are also the closest specialty deck in handling to regular cards. As for fanning and hindu shuffle and all those magic techniques, please read the other reviews as they would know better. As a card player, however, I will not be purchasing anymore of these specialty decks.
