Great Pool Volleyball July 18, 2010 Jon (NJ,USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I read some reviews on here saying things like if you hit the ball hard it will go flying across the beach and it's a junky supermarket quality rubber ball with a padded cover. These are very unfair comments, it does just what it says in the description. If you're looking for a hard official regulation volleyball, look elsewhere this isn't your product. I bought it strictly for pool volleyball. It is great, it doesn't get any better than this. It clearly says waterproof and great for the pool right on it. I don't think many of the low rating people actually read the product description. I didn't buy this expecting to get a regulation volleyball because you do not want to play pool volleyball with a regulation ball, do you know how uncomfortable that would be? In fact, if I'm playing 1on1 or 2on2 I will not even use this ball I go for a lighter one, I use this one for larger groups. This is a waterproof, no sting volleyball. Yes, it is a little lighter than a regulation ball and made of different materials. It is not light like the balls you buy in the supermarket like someone suggested. It is much heavier and higher quality than them. For those of you that may not know, this is a brand that the professionals use. I play pool volleyball almost every day and this is my go to ball. I couldn't picture anything better. If I was going to play volleyball in the grass, beach/sand, or gym I would obviously not use a pool volleyball just like I wouldn't use a football to play basketball. Bottom line is, if you are looking for a regulation ball to play actual volleyball with, this isn't the ball for you. If you're looking for either a pool volleyball or something lighter to just casually hit around with no sting, this is the perfect ball for you. The only thing that I was upset about is after ordering it on Amazon for $20.00 I found it on Mikasa's direct website for $15.00.
not for outdoor February 6, 2010 Yvonne (Austin, Texas) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Do not use outdoors.. I did not notice that warning... holes in the ball after about 10 uses.
Not a volleyball October 17, 2009 Kenneth L. Mersc (CA) I bought a couple of these thinking they would be good for outside. They are not a volleyball but a glorified bouncy ball!
no more pain or bruises May 31, 2009 Gayle Durham (englwood, NJ) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
EXCELLENT for beach volleyball. No more pain, bruises, or welts on forearm. Ball is light (but not too light) so it is easy for players of all levels to serve over net. In the past we used "official" volleyball which is too heavy, hard as a rock, gave me "tennis elbow". Now, with the Squish ball, all players are happy. It is NOT, repeat NOT, a kids ball, it is definitately for adult volleyball players. I refuse to play with any other ball.
Satisfying purchase. July 21, 2008 Winnies (CA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've been looking for a volleyball for a while. To be specific, I wanted one that I could use at the beach that does not bruise your wrists.
Note: I play volleyball for purely (amateur) recreational reasons and this one was definitely something that fit into my needs.
Pros (+) and Cons (-):
1. Does not cause welts on wrists. (+)
2. Someone mentioned that this was a plastic child's ball, this is partly true. The Squish volleyball is pretty much one of those plastic handballs in a foamy volleyball disguise. I think it was designed for pool usage. Read: Not a real volleyball. (-)
3. The red/white/blue design is very attractive. (+)
4. Too bouncy and light. It will literally fly over half the beach if you hit it hard enough. Again, not a real volleyball. (-)
I like it.
