2 out of 5 stars Too small   September 2, 2010

These items are much smaller then they appear in ad and one has already broken--don't recommend this at all.

5 out of 5 stars Good for power outages, update to original review   July 19, 2010

I'm updating my original review because I just spent the last 2 1/2 days without electricity due to a huge and nasty summer storm. I happily and safely used my little lights throughout this time. I don't like using candles because I have family members who aren't the most careful and I would worry about fires starting with candles lit around the house all night. And you aren't supposed to use candles when you sleep anyway. So I just love these great little lights. I'd recommend them to everyone. Now, please realize, they aren't made for rough and tumble, they are a little delicate, made of light plastic and not the strongest manufacture. But they work very well if placed around the house or carried around to light your way. They give plenty of light using 4 AA batteries. For around $5 each they do great. I think they are a pretty good deal. If one breaks, they are inexpensive enough to replace easily. Below is my original review.

We don't have power outages very often but I got them for this purpose. I live in a townhouse with 3 floors. I keep one on each floor. I am actually purchasing 3 more so that we have 2 on each floor. We had some power loss this last winter during a huge snow storm. The lights worked great during that time. They light up very well and its easy to read by them especially if the electricity is out for a long time. Also since they run on batteries its easy to keep them going. They are definitely NOT for rough going. I wouldn't use them on a camping trip but I would keep one in my car just in case I need a light. Not a bad deal for the price.

1 out of 5 stars Good price for useless junk   June 13, 2010

I bought these lanterns for my Girl Scouts to use on a camping trip. We used them last weekend none of the lanterns lasted more then an hour. I used high quality batteries. I am not sure what is wrong with these lanterns but none work now. I am so glad I brought along extra lanterns. I cannot return my worthless lanterns because I threw away the packaging.

These were sporadic to work if they even worked at all. I sent them all back and will be a Coleman LED lantern instead

2 out of 5 stars Careful what batteries you use,it could make a difference   May 15, 2010

I was really disappointed! We used these on our patio at night, the second time we changed the batteries the bulbs went bad ( turned black)We used duracell coppertop batteries so maybe that had something to do with it but it happened to two of the lanterns and we didn't bother with the third one. They are cute enough but not very well made.
