Product Description
THE BEACH...
A breathtakingly beautiful supermodel disappears from a swimsuit photo shoot at the most glamorous hotel in Hawaii. Only hours after she goes missing, Kim McDaniels's parents receive a terrifying phone call. Fearing the worst, they board the first flight to Maui and begin the hunt for their daughter.

...WILL NEVER BE...
Ex-cop Ben Hawkins, now a reporter for the L.A. Times, gets the McDaniels assignment. The ineptitude of the local police force defies belief--Ben has to start his own investigation for Kim McDaniels to have a prayer. And for Ben to have the story of his life.

...THE SAME FOR YOU AGAIN.
All the while, the killer sets the stage for his next production. His audience expects the best--and they won't be disappointed. Swimsuit is a heart-pounding story of fear and desire, transporting you to a place where beauty and murder collide and unspeakable horrors are hidden within paradise.

1 out of 5 stars SWIMSUIT by James Patterson   July 29, 2010
D. M. THOMAS (Clawson, Mi USA)
I agree with so many other disappointed readers. I am convinced more then ever that the only thing Patterson contributes to his books is his name. What a shame, the guy is trying to set a world's record for number of books bearing his name and apparently he doesn't even care about the quality of the content. In short this book is savage garbage. The horrifying. gruesome murders are sickening. A little bit of gore is fine, but whoever wrote this book (and I doubt if Patterson had a thing to do with it) got carried away with describing the murders but spent very little time telling a story. I just wish James Patterson would stop trying to keep his position in the Guinness book of records for number of books bearing his name and get back to his original roots. He used to be a great story teller.

1 out of 5 stars EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING   July 27, 2010

This was one of the biggest wastes of time I have ever experienced. I used to love all of the James Patterson books and couldn't find a reason to stop reading them, "SWIMSUIT" just gave me one. Bye bye Patterson.

1 out of 5 stars didn't bother to finish   July 24, 2010
Pleased Mom (Cordova, TN)
Very disappointing novel. I really enjoy Patterson's novels. I love the Alex Cross series except for Cross Country. It was rather
violent. Little did I know that it was a walk in the park compared to this one. This novel has been suggested as a beach read, fast paced
and good? I must have missed that in all the violent/sexual passages. Very disappointing. Stopped at Chapter 33 which is page 111 in a
Patterson book. Don't waste your time on this one.
Worst Case was so much better:)

3 out of 5 stars Did I like or Didn't I?   July 23, 2010
Kisstastic2 (Norman, OK)
Swimsuit as the title of this book is confusing to me. There are many things confusing about this book. Did I like it or did I not?
This book told in first person format by a reporter that gets tangled up with a serial killer and is not for the faint of heart. The killings are brutal and sadistic. The killer is psychotic. I think this will disgust a lot of people when they read it and will not give the book a chance because of the plot.

I read this book at a very slow pace and I think it was because it was very trite and predictive. The ending just fizzled. I felt Patterson sort of said, I have got to finish the book now and just stopped the story but then the more I think about it, what other way could this really end.
I am really torn on if I liked this book or didn't like it. I have been reading Patterson for years and will keep reading but this book is just average.

1 out of 5 stars Don't waste you money   July 18, 2010

Patterson has always written a good book. It makes you want to turn the page and start the next chapter. This book, however is sadistic and the ending bites. He use to be a good writer but has sold out for the money. This is the last Patterson book I will ever buy.
